Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde.
As part of her annual company visits, Mayor Birgit Tupat was a guest at Aluminium GmbH Nachrodt (AGN). The visit provided the mayor with an excellent opportunity to learn first-hand about the company's current developments and challenges. With around 63 employees, AGN is an important employer in the twin municipality.
Mayor Tupat was welcomed by Managing Director Dr Gerhard Anger. Having travelled specially from the Austrian headquarters, Dr Anger led the discussion together with authorised signatory Marc Flüshöh. AGN is part of Alu-met GmbH, which, together with its production site in Austria – Speedline Aluminium Gießerei GmbH in Schlins – is one of the largest suppliers of extruded bolts in Central Europe.
The event began with an informal exchange in the administration department. The focus was on current topics relating to the company, market changes and the local economy. This was followed by a tour of the heart of the company: the spacious production halls with their large-format melting furnaces and other equipment for processing and producing aluminium. The raw materials stored outside were used to illustrate the production process, which was then discussed.
Birgit Tupat gained fascinating insights into the complex recycling process for aluminium. She was particularly impressed by the
Recycling process technology for the reprocessing of aluminium. This is a process that is not only of great ecological importance, but also highlights the many special features of working with red-hot and liquid metal. The high temperatures and the challenges involved in handling the heated material underscore the expertise of the Nachrodt-based company.
Mayor Tupat was visibly impressed by AGN's innovative strength and sustainable approach. The visit underscores the importance of dialogue between the municipal administration and local businesses in order to work together to strengthen Nachrodt-Wiblingwerde as a business location and set the course for a successful future.
The regular annual exchange serves to address the concerns of businesses and continuously improve the conditions for their success. For Mayor Tupat, these visits are an integral part of her work to ensure communication with local employers and to engage in ongoing dialogue.
