EPD - Alu-met receives Type III environmental label

The responsible use of limited resources and the environment is a major concern for the Alu-met Group. High standards are set in this area. The foundries of Alu-met Group are certified in the field of environment (ISO 14001) and in the field of energy management (ISO 50001).

In addition to the existing certificates, the Environmental Product Declaration, or EPD for short, is now available for the production of aluminum extrusion billets.

The EPD is assigned to the Type III environmental label. In this declaration, as issued by the IBU, the scientifically determined values from the life cycle assessment of a product are summarized and documented according to a uniform scheme. This is done objectively, neutrally, scientifically based and, above all, without evaluation. This is precisely the difference to Type I and Type II eco-labels.
