Fire drill in Schlins

Schlins fire department rehearses emergency at the Speedline Aluminium plant

With the aim of ensuring optimum cooperation in the event of an emergency, a fire drill was carried out on May 20 of this year at the Speedline Aluminium plant premises. In addition to the necessary, smooth processes within the Schlins Volunteer Fire Department, an important part of the exercise was to familiarize the relief forces with the conditions on site.

The exercise was based on a person trapped under an electric ant, who had to be freed and transported away using technical aids. In addition, two injured persons had to be found in the hydraulic room, which was difficult to access due to fog, and removed from the danger zone, and two persons lying on the ground on the heavy load ceiling had to be brought to safety using a stretcher and a ladder.

In the last part of the exercise, the firefighters were able to test the protective suits organized by Speedline for their functionality with the furnace door of the melting furnace open. A tour of the hall by the team completed the picture.
